Capsicum annuum is a species of the plant genus Capsicum native to southern North America, the Caribbean, and northern South America.This species is the most common and extensively cultivated of the five domesticated capsicums. The species encompasses a wide variety of shapes and sizes of peppers, including sweet bell peppers and some chili pepper varieties such as jalapeños, New Mexico chile, and cayenne peppers, all of which are nightshades.

Description
Light
A lover of bright light and some sunshine (2 -3 hours), close to an east or west-facing window.
Watering
The capsicum likes its soil to be moist at all times. A thorough watering is required but remove excess water from the bottom of the plant tray after.
Temperature
Cool temperatures from 55°F/13°C – 65°F/18°C are ideal during the night and 70°F/21°C – 80°F/26°C, during the day. Avoid lower than 55°F/13°C.
Humidity
Average room humidity is fine but avoids too much dry air.
Feed
Feed every two weeks with a diluted liquid fertilizer while the plant is flowering and fruiting.
Height & Growth Rate
Peppers grow on attractive erect bushy plants ranging from less than 12 in. tall (30 cm) to 4 ft. high (120 cm). The alternate leaves to 3 in.
Toxicity
In large doses, it acts as an irritant poison and causes difficulty in swallowing
