A lush, decorative foliage plant with large, oval, leathery leaves. Young leaves are a bright red, maturing to burgundy red-purple and ultimately dark glossy green. Philodendron Imperial Red has a compact, bushy habit.
A great low maintenance option and shade tolerant into the bargain. Ideal for adding interest and air-purifying benefits to the home or office.

Description
Light
This Philodendron is happy in a shaded area but best in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight as this will scorch the leaves.
Watering
Keep the soil of your Imperial Red moist but allow the top of the soil to dry-out slightly before re-watering. This plant is drought tolerant.
Temperature
Prefers average to warm household temperatures from 18-28°C and can handle as low as 12°C for short periods. Avoid cold draughts.
Humidity
The Imperial Red will do fine in normal home humidity, but thrives in more humid environments. Consider misting occasionally for best results.
Feed
Apply a weak solution of liquid fertiliser two or three times during the growing season.

A moderate to fast-growing plant, the Imperial Red typically reaches an ultimate height of around 90 to 120cm indoors.
